Dancing On My Own
Part of the NiNE8 collective, Bone Slim releases his latest track ‘Dancing On My Own’, accompanied by its own video with vintage filters, picturesque moments and bizarre obscuring masks. The enigmatic rapper, known for fusing 90s hip hop nostalgic beats brings an electronic feel that touches into house and R&B, similar to the likes of KAYTRANADA. The track comes after the collaborative EP with droppedmilk, ‘BoneChilledMilk’ back in 2019.
Produced by filmmaker and videographer Nina Porteous, the visuals see Bone Slim moving through churches with an early 1900s film noir style, gradually showing himself being pulled into colour and spending time with a partner frolicking in grassy fields.
With the lyrics encapsulating party drugs and feelings during a night out, the track contrasts with the classical videography to fit around the jubilant feel of the song as a whole.
