LOST
Production powerhouse Swindle joins forces with undisputed UK rap kingpins for ‘LOST’, a soulful ode to personal integrity.
Emerging during the golden era of 90s jungle/UKG, Swindle has consistently turned the tides with his approach to music creation. His versatility has been widely recognised, leading to collaborations with artists such as D Double E, JME and Ghetts, to name a few.
In this new track, ‘LOST’ he summons three more prolific UK artists, JNR Williams, Kojey Radical and Loyle Carner in a charismatic cypher format. The staggered guitar warbles matched with the funky bassline generate a convivial atmosphere that is juxtaposed by witty fast-paced lyricism. This is a welcome change of direction, especially from Carner’s usual laidback charm. The call-and-response flow between Kojey and Loyle creates a dynamic narrative in a track that already pushes boundaries in terms of pacing through the rapid interchange of JNR’s tender choruses and bombastic verses. This track is crammed with lavish creativity and expression as you’d expect from a lineup as powerful as this.
