Vinci Velour
London’s multifaceted up-comer Vinch returns to grace the underground with a hypnotically-pensive number ‘Vinci Velour’.
The all-singing all-dancing Vinci-Vandetta is the budding talent doing it all; vocals, production and even engineering - there isn’t much this rising talent can’t do, I mean the man can even sing; brining us some soothing sounds courtesy of his most recent entry ‘Time of Ur Life’.
Although, Vinch hasn’t just popped up out of thin-air, he’s been on the block for a while now cultivating a vastly versatile sound within the musical sub-culture and garnering a die-hard audience in the process with entries such as; ‘Kill Bill’, ‘Icecream' and the hyperbolic ‘Sorry’.
This time round though, Vinch brings a more laid-back number, yet keeping up with the gritty vibe he’s bloomed into over the years, that’s paralleled by that ominous voice he possesses. Easing us into a melancholy sequence of keys, Vinch then introduces a bellowing pattern of muddy 808s that’s missing the touch of its common hi-hat pairing; providing that ever-experimental approach he brings to any gem he touches, and in doing so, forming a pliable soundscape, setting a picture-perfect gloomy foundation for the rapper’s conscious-seizing cadence and wordplay to shine throughout.
