Bewildering visionary Osquello continues to showcase he’s like no-other in this day and age; gracing us with some infectiously bone-chilling sounds, collaborating with the elegant songstress Desta French in their enigmatic ‘Back Home’.

Unless you’ve been under a rock for some time now, then you’ve probably heard of the rising-singer, songwriter and producer that is Osquello, along with the bountiful body-of-work that’s tailed over his timeline in music, gracing his audience with kaleidoscopic entries form the likes of; 'Good Morning Simulation', ‘Something Behind Me’ and of course ‘Osqstock’. 

Doubling the energy within this number, Osquello links-up with the hypnotising-hispanic songstress, swooning the ears of the latin-world as we speak, Desta French. British-living, yet sonically-teleporting to near-enough every corner of the globe, this mesmerising vocalist and songwriter has come to lead a much-needed ‘British Latinx’ renaissance I never knew we ever needed following my first listen of her gripping track ‘Guajira’. Certainly a talent you need under your radar with that versatile sonic arsenal. 

Sourcing some of the UK’s most promising talents vocally within this number, this couldn’t have possibly not banged. Although, the pair further decided to secure this one, linking-up with rising producer Jkarri, seeing placements with generation-sensation PinkPanthress on ‘Passion’, to curate a soothing jazz/boom-bap infused sound the two could only shine-upon. 

‘Back Home’ sees the pairing weave their way between hallucinatory harmonies guaranteed to leave hairs-standing tall, to gripping pen-smithery cloaked within assertive rhymes - particularly expressed within Osquello’s conscious-seizing chain of bars: ‘so naive about royal families/it’s a calamity/causing famine in the maddest streets…’, all while Jkarri provides that paralleled J-Dilla-esque drum percussion.

Signing this one off, Desta pulls us into a silky-smooth succession of rhymes, with those lulling vocals and that warm cadence, further emphasised within the layering of those soothing ‘rush, rush, rush/hush, hush, hush’ breaks. Yet again, bringing that ever-growing range of influence to the forefront for all to see. 

Make sure to take in this one via all streaming platforms and run up those numbers, it’s certainly not one you’ll be wanting to miss.
