Unruly Festival 2024 Review
Attending Unruly Fest at Crystal Palace Bowl on July 28, 2024, was an electrifying experience that exceeded all expectations. As an annual celebration of Jamaican music and culture, the festival lived up to its reputation with a stellar lineup and vibrant atmosphere.
The festival had an incredible vibe from start to finish, echoing the lively energy of the Notting Hill Carnival. The VIP area was particularly enjoyable, thanks to Wray and Nephew’s rum and the upbeat sets by Dinch and Infinite Sounds. This combination created an immersive experience that set the stage for an amazing day.
Jay Knox on the main stage was a standout, delivering a high-energy set alongside the charismatic Big Man Zest, who added an extra layer of excitement with his hosting. Sir DJ Corey proved once again why he’s a festival favorite, with a performance that kept the crowd dancing all night long. Spice brought her A-game with an astonishing show, showcasing her unparalleled talent and captivating stage presence. Popcaan, the festival’s headliner, was simply phenomenal. His performance was a dynamic blend of his greatest hits, showcasing his prowess as both a performer and a crowd-puller.
While the festival’s food options included jerk wings and chips, the service left much to be desired. The quality of the food was decent, but the service was inconsistent, which detracted somewhat from the overall experience.
Unruly Fest truly delivered an unforgettable celebration of Jamaican culture with its impressive lineup and vibrant atmosphere. It’s clear why this festival has become a must-attend event, and I’m already looking forward to the next installment at the South Facing Festival. If you’re a fan of Caribbean music and culture, Unruly Fest is an event not to be missed.
