Radio
London emcee J Swave is teasing his upcoming mixtape with dance-fused early release single Radio, a track which will seemingly fulfil its prophecy.
Radio arrives only months after his full debut mixtape Catch the Swave dropped, showing both the relentless nature of our 21 year old spitter and the amount of content he has to exhibit. We have visuals for a couple of tracks from the mixtape with pick of the bunch Well Done premiering on Mixtape Madness and since garnering over 50k streams on Spotify.
Perhaps Well Done provides the best indicator of where Swave’s music is heading, whereas Radio carries quite a different vibe with the Mayan Beats soundscape more influenced by the club than the street.
Although the earlier stuff would suggest an artist entirely dependent on a drill-flow and trap-esc beats, his upcoming mixtape looks to offer more than just that, ultimately infusing his Nigerian roots and London education into a succinct body of work.
Aside from music our young creative also released a denim two-piece for his debut drop Catch the Swave as he dabbled in fashion and intertwined this into his music. On top of this, Swave has been campaigning for a parliamentary bill to be passed regarding sickle cell and free medication for those who suffer from the hereditary disease.
We are yet to have a date or title for the next mixtape, but the next single Go Getter will be arriving in January and the full release later in the year; never know, you might hear him on the radio before that.
