Belly
North London’s very own Glizz is back and greazier than ever with his new single “Belly” — a gritty follow-up to his recent heater “Inconsistent” featuring MOBO-nominated artist AntsLive. Rapidly building momentum, Glizz is proving with every drop that he’s not here to play. Armed with razor-sharp bars, an undeniable flow, and a growing list of co-signs from the likes of Hunger, Wonderland, Notion, GRM Daily, and New Wave Magazine, it’s clear the city’s got another serious contender on its hands.
Produced by heavyweight UK beatmaker BKay (FKA Twigs, Digga D, Krept & Konan, Chy Cartier), “Belly” arrives with dark, bass-heavy sonics and a haunting energy that immediately pulls you in. Glizz rides the instrumental with raw, unapologetic lyricism, delving into his past with vivid storytelling and honest reflections. It's a track that smacks with confidence on the surface but peels back layers of vulnerability underneath — balancing chest-out bravado with street-hardened truth.
“Beyond lyricism and wordplay, I want my music to make you feel something and ‘Belly’ definitely does that,” Glizz says of the track. “The song’s production is dark and almost spooky, but partnered with Bkay’s signature bounce, it feels like a song that sits in its own lane. On the face of it, ‘Belly’ is me puffing my chest and talking my talk, but scratch below the surface and it touches on the harsh realities of a lifestyle we’re all guilty of glamourising.”
