Glasgow DJ/producer K4CIE has teamed up with Mancunian Black Josh for bouncy Northern single ‘Baby Sky Hook’. Having come up through various local radio shows and guest features, K4CIE combines UK trap with sounds from across the pond through the poignant use of the Rolland TR 808 drum machine - a piece of kit synonymous with the US rap scene. 

As is the case with this electric single. Black Josh’s naturally jumpy flow, as well as his charismatic energy, compliments an 808-laden beat like this. K4CIE is no stranger to working with revered emcees; having supported and spun for CASISDEAD and AJ Tracey, no less, as well as being the current DJ for fellow Glaswegian sensation CHLOBOCOP. 

K4CIE has been a longstanding ambassador for inclusive spaces for women both on line-ups and in clubs through her work with PEACH. She hopes that this release will reinforce this, saying “It’s time for female producers to lead!”. This female producer has taken the lead and the collar and has us jumping up for a walk. ‘Baby Sky Hook’ is out now on 644 Studios and available to stream everywhere.
