Wollan

Homerton’s heavyweight Unknown T sets off to the motherland to link-up with dancehall’s dominant Skillibeng to offer a potent offering in the jumpy ‘Wollan’.

The UK scene has been heavily influenced by the Islands, Jamaica in particular, since the dawn of time with the rich diaspora that has come throughout the years; whether it’s seen through the music, culture or slang that is ever-so present till this day within this small Isle.

Just like many in the industry, Unknown T takes complete pride in his ancestry; naturally implementing that deeply rooted Caribbean flair showcased within the drill-star’s whole discography. So it was only a matter of time till the home-town hero linked up with his people dem; turning to the only man that could possibly match T’s energy in the dancehall scene right now: Skillibeng.

‘Wollan’ showcases the two trading bar for bar over a Tefo production comprising of melancholy piano progressions, eerie synths and ethnic plucks that clang throughout the ether. Providing the correct energy for T, Tefo injects the melody with a sequence of drill-infused percussion; seeing the producer etch that notorious drill hi-hat pattern throughout, as a choppy set of snares ring out amongst the pungent bass, keeping the gritty vibe alive through and through.
