Sounds Of My World

One of the most vital producers to bless the burgeoning afrobeats scene, Juls releases his highly anticipated debut album ‘Sounds Of My World’.

The British-Ghanaian artist, producer and DJ has risen through the ranks over the years to become one of the most sought after producers in the game, and has worked with festival topping names like Burna Boy, Tyler The Creator and Lauryn Hill. Having dropped three eclectic and colourful singles in the last few months, Juls finally gifted us with the body of work that we have all been waiting for.

Juls merges resonance and style with a cultured nuance that is immensely rare for any genre; drawing on elements from many popular UK scenes to amalgamate a sound that seeps dynamism and personality. The range of features on the album is quite frankly ridiculous, with some of the brightest names in UK and world music making appearances. Juls pays homage to the UK underground scene with the inclusion of Pit favourites Knucks, kadiata and Sam Wise on the vibrant single ‘Wicked’. There is also room for soulstress Jaz Karis, Dreamville rapper Bas and afrobeats superstar Oxlade, amongst many others. The inclusion of drill frontrunner Suspect OTB alongside Prettyboy D-O on ‘Alarm’ is a welcome surprise, with the rapper illustrating his versatility and craft.

Despite the wide variety of style and influence - which ranges from afrobeats to jazz, from R&B to reggae - the album remains incredibly cohesive, with the sonic structure married to a series of compelling narratives delivered by some of the very best singers and rappers around today.

A who’s who of UK and world talent, ‘Sounds Of My World’ is more than an album; it’s a statement, a defining moment for one of our most exciting producers. If you listen to anything today, make it this album.
