Wireless 2024 Festival Review!
Wireless Festival 2024, presented by Rockstar Energy, was an electrifying and unforgettable experience. Held in its spiritual home of Finsbury Park, London, from July 12-14, the festival brought together the best of hip-hop, rap, R&B, trap, and Afrobeats.
Nicki Minaj headlined Friday night with a show-stopping performance that will go down in Wireless history. The crowd went wild when she brought out Skillibeng for the live debut of "Forward From Trini." Her set, featuring hits like ‘Super Bass’ and ‘Starships,’ was a true Pink Friday celebration. Future also lit up the stage, with a surprise appearance from Metro Boomin, delivering a dynamic set. Sean Paul took fans on a nostalgic trip down memory lane, made even more special with a dance cameo by his young children.
Saturday night belonged to 21 Savage, making his long-awaited UK festival debut. His gritty lyrics and commanding presence had the crowd roaring as he performed hits like ‘a lot’ and ‘Bank Account.’ Ruger was another standout performer, with his energy and connection with the audience making his set one of the most memorable of the weekend. Donch and Martelo also killed it at the Casa Bacardi stage with their electrifying performances.
Sunday was spectacular with Doja Cat's dazzling headline performance. Her swaggering set, filled with electric guitar riffs and powerful drum beats from her latest album "Scarlet," was a perfect conclusion to the festival. The Afrobeat prodigy, Rema, lit up the stage with his biggest hits, joined by special guests Shallipopi, Darkoo, and Zerry DL.
The VIP area added an extra layer of enjoyment to the festival, offering a great spot to relax and enjoy the performances with a bit of luxury. A culinary highlight was a really good jerky pork wrap, providing the perfect fuel to keep me going through the day.
Wireless Festival 2024 was an incredible celebration of live music and vibrant culture. From Nicki Minaj's historic performance to 21 Savage's powerful sets, every moment was a highlight. I had an amazing time and would definitely go again. Wireless 2024 truly was the pinnacle of hip-hop celebrations in Europe.
