Wash Clothes
Island boy Cashh tunes in from across the Atlantic with the Jamaican’s latest offering ‘Wash Clothes’; giving a glimpse into life on the Caribbean streets.
Ensuing the rapper’s previous number ‘Mood’, Cashh flips the switch from the sweeter sounding soundscape, hoping on a Deanboy produced instrumental comprising of pensive piano progressions, airy synths and whirling Barrington Levy Vox’s ringing out through the ether. Injecting the number with an assertive drum pattern, Deanboy curates a picture-perfect soundscape for the musician to coast atop, placing his cool-headed demeanour on full display, weaving in between patios reminiscing the grittier times.
Wrapping this one up Cashh turns to 300k to physically manifest the sound’s energy; kicking things off, panning through washing lines and embodying the the rapper’s statement that ‘washing clothes is part of the Jamaican culture’ and that he’s just playing a part his part to ‘keep the culture alive’. Cashh stated when he was back home he’d hand wash all of his close, in fact incorporating the ‘routine’ into his creative process at times, writing songs and coming up with melodies at the same time.
Make sure to take in Cashh’s fresh offering for an insight into the budding rapper’s forthcoming album ‘Return of The Immigrant’, set to release November 5th.
