Track of the Week - Malta Freestyle

It’s a lively alternative rap link up with the swiftly rising Arz joining forces with blasé barrer Ramonie and chill-rap’s hottest producer El Londo for Malta Freestyle. 

Arz has seen his stock rise sharply and organically since bursting onto thee scene in the back end of the previous decade, offering a widely sellable sound that merges lo-fi drill with underground rap. In 2021, he dropped his cohesive, cheeky and charismatic debut EP Love Letters, and has since featured with the likes of Chanel Loren and JBee. Back at it with friend and past collaborator - East London’s savvy underground don Ramonie - Malta Freestyle is casual in its class, unserious but acutely authentic. 

El Londo - renowned in the alternative scene for his game changing work with the likes of high flying spitter Ashbeck, as well as upholding one of the gassiest producer tags about - blesses the boys with a sun-kissed sizzler of a beat, with the delicate, jazzy guitar and mellow keys countered by his signature crunchy drums. Ramonie and Arz go back to back offering velvet flows and playful lyricism, showcasing an ease in their art that is one of the core values of the burgeoning scene that they feature in so prominently. The video sees the lads living it up out in Malta, enjoying the sun, hydration and the local sights.
