Rich, revitalising and rewarding East London talent Bel Cobain returns to bless our ears, unveiling her empowering and encompassing new cut Leader.

Experimental and eclectic in her style, Bel has gone from strength to strength since her 2019 breakout hit Introverted Stoner, collaborating with the likes of Lex Amor, Danny Sanchez and Bone Slim along the way. With a highly talented band at her disposal, Bel’s music is spontaneous yet meticulous, enveloping her listener into a fantastic dream that you long to never wake up from.

Leader sees a continuation of the songstress’ artistic refinement. With a vocal performance that quaintly pierces the soul and lifts the listener into a state of glistening wistfulness, Bel glides over the Latin-infused instrumental that is mournfully vibrant, delving through texture and tone with refined craft. The lyrics flow from Bel’s vocal chords; perfectly seated at the hazy table, exploring the idea that submitting to being led and giving yourself fully to truth and perspective is a unique form of liberation. Leader is accompanied by a hazy B side Unsafe House that introduces Trip-hop elements in the Latin-leaning soundscape.
