Track of the Week: Be Me
Chameleonic in style and guise, Finn Foxell’s unravelling sonic identity glides further into effervescent indie on his spirited and vibrant new cut Be Me.
It’s been an impressive and unique artistic journey for Shepherds Bush’s finest, whose musical evolution from silk-laden rapper to expressive multi-dimensional artist has been a reflection of his personal journey towards self-acceptance. 2021 saw the Elevation Meditation stalwart have his most progressive year to date, with his Alright Sunshine EP and respective tour skyrocketing Finn from hotly-tipped upcomer to established mainstay within the alternative field.
Produced by Nikhil Beats and Jacob Manson, the guitar driven instrumental is sun-kissed and hazy, with Finn’s signature flow and tone cutting through the radiant groove. Finn’s anthemic declarations of being comfortable in his own skin are refreshing and striking, with the message of self-love shining through; a burning ember of positivity in a cold and cynical society.
Having announced a fresh tour, What’s Your Poison, set to kick off in October ’22, we can expect a lot more artistic development from one of the most creative names in UK music.
