Too Late
Australian-based producer Fdluxx is ready to drop his new 4-track EP ‘Too Late’, inspired by the flourishing UK Dance scene. Although harbouring the accent, and of course living permanently upside down, Fdluxx is actually very rooted in the UK scene; producing lo-fi, typically hip-hop, soundscapes for emcees such as Lord Apex and Verbz to slide across- heavyweights in the UK’s underground rap scene.
This EP though has taken a very different approach. Picking up on the evolution of dance-beats both in this country and further afield, Fdluxx taps into the post-rave melancholia that so many ears are seeking now. Sort of cushioned between dance, garage and liquid DnB, ‘Too Late’ is an extremely re-playable joint which is equally as effective as a backdrop as it is when positioned more centre-stage.
So far we have early release single ‘Back Home’ which dropped mid May time; a perfect one to end a boozy summers evening with the warmth still lingering. I don’t want to throw it all into the same basket, but this single in particular is what I’d call good ‘afters’ music, with other tracks better suited for an earlier part of the night.
