Through Music We Rise

In collaboration with his old youth club Rise 365, Kojey Radical releases the powerfully understated short documentary ‘Through Music We Rise’.

As a rapper, Kojey is rooted in authenticity, clarity and positivity, ideologies that are manifested within this film. ‘Through Music We Rise’ is an exploration of the fundamental relationship between music and community, and the importance for young people to have an outlet and a creative form of expression. With youth centres being stripped back and closed down in the very inner city areas where they uphold the most significance, now is the time to act, with this project emphasising the importance of these spaces. 

Directed and produced by Ade Femzo, one of the young leaders from Rise 365, the film follows six young musicians on a day in their life centred on a workshop with Kojey himself. It’s an organic, personal and free flowing project that will resonate with viewers and help them understand the significance of giving back.
