The Feeling

As MC/producer pairings go, Verbz & Mr Slipz know all about making music with meaning. They’re the latest additions to the mighty High Focus roster, climbing up the ranks with every new track.

Having released their first collaborative album Lessons Of Adolescence three years ago, the duo are set to drop a new LP Radio Waves this November. ‘The Feeling’ follows ‘2202 FM’ as the second single lifted from thier upcoming project. It’s an inspiring tune centred around the troubles faced when chasing ‘that feeling’.

Verbz’ hook hits hard in the gut, with the Croydon MC spitting:

“ You can spend your whole life searching for the answers you know / Far from your goals / Laughing though you’re harming your soul.”

We might already have what we’re looking for, and even if we know what we need to do to improve, we often ignore it. It’s best to be honest with ourselves and to also look after our health, both mentally and physically.

The tune is dedicated to Reggie Power, who’s memory lives on in the music video directed by Parallel Media. To properly appreciate Mr Slipz’ full-bodied production, stream the instrumental of ‘The Feeling’ as well as Verbz’ vocal version. It’s hard not to feel this one.
