Shade (Breathe Deep)

An understated but powerful force within the UK Hip-Hop scene, the supremely talented Manik MC releases new single ‘Shade (Breathe Deep)’ via Ditto Music. A rap prodigy, competing at the Roundhouse, the Barbican and opening for Benjamin Zephaniah at the Royal Festival Hall aged just 14, Manik has gone on to build a dedicated fan base and make his name within the UK Hip-Hop community. Since then he's worked with Maverick Sabre, toured with Loyle Carner and Jehst, performed on Colours Berlin and racked up millions of streams for his EP ‘Midnight Express’. 

Ever influenced by the ever-present social issues within inner-city life and his own personal relationships, Shade is another example of Manik's lyrical dexterity and intelligence. Over a shuffling boom-bap beat with a muted sound palette, Manik's abilities as a songwriter as well as a rapper are impossible to ignore.
