Project 6 2024 Festival Review
London's Brockwell Park ignited on May 24th as Project 6 Festival made its highly anticipated return, celebrating 30 Years of Rinse FM's impact on electronic music. The festival’s diverse lineup, boasting an array of influential artists, promised an unforgettable early summer showcase, and it certainly delivered.
I kicked off the day with an incredible jerk wrap that set the perfect tone for what was to come. The highlight of my day was drinking Liquid Death, which was a game changer since I wasn't drinking alcohol. It helped me feel comfortable and enjoy the festival without feeling self-conscious about my choice.
Casisdead was amazing as usual, delivering a performance that captivated the crowd. However, Pusha T was the real standout of the festival. His performance was nothing short of incredible, and his DJ was equally impressive, adding to the overall energy of the set.
Juls' DJ set was fantastic, providing a seamless blend of tracks that kept everyone dancing. AJ Tracey also delivered an outstanding performance, showcasing his talent and energy on stage. Nines rounded off the festival perfectly, his set enhanced by impressive pyrotechnics, with flames shooting up, adding to the excitement of the night. The weed smokers in the crowd were especially pleased, adding to the chilled-out, happy vibe of the festival.
Ms. Dynamite was another highlight of the day. She was amazing, delivering a powerful performance that resonated with the audience. Katy B’s set was a nostalgic trip back to my school days and my first time at Fabric. I can’t believe Rinse FM has been going for 30 years, and I hope to see another 30 more. I remember attending their Christmas set at Fabric about 10 years ago when Katy B first came out, so it was really special to hear her perform again.
In addition to these highlights, the festival featured performances from DJ Boring, DJ Seinfeld, Eliza Rose, and many others, celebrating Rinse FM’s legacy from its pirate radio origins in 1994 to its evolution into a cultural powerhouse shaping underground sounds.
The overall atmosphere at Project 6 was wonderful. The vibe was positive, and everyone seemed to be having a great time. I even managed to have some fun on the bumper cars, which was a nostalgic and enjoyable experience.
Project 6 Festival was a fantastic celebration of Rinse FM’s enduring legacy and the evolution of electronic music. From garage and grime to house and UK funky, the festival encapsulated the essence of underground music culture. Overall, I highly recommend Project 6 Festival for anyone looking for a memorable festival experience with great performances, delicious food, and a welcoming atmosphere.
