Let Go

High Focus has a fresh face for its ever-expanding roster; welcome Renelle 893 and his latest single with King Kashmere, Let Go, following on from My Demons dropped a few days prior.

Hailing from South East London, Renelle has surfaced on a couple of occasions within my echo chamber to perceptible effect. His features on Nostalgiac and Clbrks’s projects this year had me checking whose verse that was before the tracks ended and clearly I wasn’t the only one to notice.

With his third full-length album also dropping a few months back it’s been a busy schedule of late, to say he deserved the ‘call up’ would be an understatement- High Focus really do handpick them.

His first action was dropping a couple of singles with the legendary King Kashmere providing the very differing soundscapes on My Demons and now Let Go. The US influence for both artists shine through here, with the beat tinged with some old-school elements and Renelle previously mentioning his love for producers Dre and The Alchemist- it’s one of those cliché matches made upstairs.

Another artist making the London to Brighton trajectory, the seaside town proves again a consistent breeding ground for Highfocus who continue to grow despite their size.
