late nights

Newcomer Harvey Marwood announces himself to the alternative rap space with introspective cut late nights.

Only 18 years old, the rising South-East Kent artist has already developed a fruitful career in music journalism, as well as joining genre-bending duo Everyone You Know for one of their sold out tour dates at the back end of last year. Now releasing his official debut track, Harvey is ready to push his art to the ears of budding fans.

Inspired by UK conscious rap frontrunners like Loyle Carner and Knucks, Harvey taps into his inner thought process for a subtly powerful cut that tackles issues like addiction and mental health. The young rapper showcases his tight flow and expressive delivery over the sentimental instrumental produced by goodbyechase.

Speaking on the release, Harvey commented:

‘late nights’ is specifically aimed at the youth generation of today. It tells the relatable story of many – seeking distractions to forget about issues and problems in life that at the point of challenge seem difficult to cope with. And what do people do in their teenage years when they have problems? Go out drinking and “getting high” to create distraction.
