Just Here
South West’s pioneering emcee Danny Sanchez brings a taste of that Hispanic flair in his latest summer-stunner, linking-up with kaleidoscopic maestro TAMBALA in their warm offering ‘Just Here’.
Climbing the ranks of the UK’s rising ‘Underground’ sound, Sanchez has cultivated a ride-or-die audience, coming up with the likes of fellow rising titans and collaborators; Ashbeck, Bawo, Ninioh and many more that have put the UK’s independent talent on the right radars.
Sanchez’s soundscape predominately consists of laid-back riddims paralleled by those nonchalant cadences emitted through the rapper’s consoling voice - bringing us his self-established style that he labels ‘better for bunnin’ in his interview with Fred Perry (check that out here).
‘Just Here’ see’s no change in Danny’s approach, bringing us vibes that could see you anywhere on the planet soaking this one in; whether that be pool-side chilling in the Bahamas’s (one can wish), a well-overdue link-up with the bro’s on a sunny day or those ones where the motive takes a more mellow turn to the afters following a long night.
Sonically, Sanchez turns to TAMBALA for this silky-smooth number, plugging Danny a velvet-like soundscape; layered with a fluttering chord-progression that’s infused with some dreamy-reverb, setting the foundation for an airy ambience that Sanchez was just bound to shine on. TAMBALA then marries the soothing progression with choppy percussion bringing some bailé-funk/hispanic vibes that’ll leave you’re body moving, and ultimately complimented by those rich harmonies courtesy of Sanchez: ‘I just wanna feel the sun on my skin… on my skin’. Wrapping this one up with a warming touch, bound to keep those summer-blues at bay.
Make sure you take in the number by this dynamic-duo on all streaming platforms, it’s more than deserving of some serious streams!
