I Used To Blame Others

Vocalist Gita Buhari is teasing her sophomore EP ‘Blood Lily’ with early release single I Used To Blame Others.

Gita’s 2020 debut Queen of Nothing earned her critical acclaim from Vogue and ELLE no-less, where they praised the warmth of her voice in tandem with encasing electronic production. 

Her latest entry continues this slightly bedroom-pop sound, but with modern nods to trip-hop, soul and stargaze achieved through Arjuna Vlasbom and his exceptional band. A bass-driven, direct form of instrumentation is taken which does well to hold its own without distracting from Gita’s enticing vocals. 

Producer and partner Vlasbom shared the frustrations of lockdown life with Gita, which resulted in the EP Blood Lily- a collection of tracks that embody how they felt at the time of writing. 

I Used To Blame Others is out everywhere now with the full EP dropping June 17th.
