I See You Sometimes
Displaying his iconic and hypnotising looped style of production, Vegyn links up with UK rapper Jeshi for ‘I See You Sometimes’. Taken from his upcoming EP ‘Like a Good Old Friend’ the brand new single follows on from his abstract and ambient 2019 EP ‘Only Diamonds Cut Diamonds’.
Having produced for many notable musicians such as JPEGMAFIA, Frank Ocean and Kali Uchis, Vegyn not only fortifies his sound further on his own creations, he also moulds Daft Punk style electronic beats with simplicity within his minimal loops, creating a concoction of complex sounds that overlap and blend. ‘I See You Sometimes’ begins to pick up momentum gradually towards the end of the track, fit with hi-hats and enabling an influence of lo-fi house, ringing unique and obscure, like something you might hear on a YouTube Houseum playlist.
Accompanying the dreamy track is an everchanging compilation music video filled with random, blending and merging images that fade into one another as the pace picks up within the track. It ends abruptly as though it’s supposed to continue for another few minutes once the hi-hats kick in but, we guess Vegyn wants the rest of the EP to do the talking.
