Holiday From Reality
Ahead of her debut album The Power In Us, which will land on this April, South London’s Poppy Ajudha has gifted us with another single Holiday From Reality, a song everyone who is chasing a dream can relate too.
Produced by Wesley Singerman (Kendrick Lamar, Anderson .Paak) and Taylor Dexter (Ray BLK), the song is about frustration with this cycle of working to breathe, navigating the thorny streets to success, it can take its toll on the mental. But as Poppy Ajudha states in the song, “only me can save me”, by making sure you keep the dream alive by making the sacrifices and putting in the shifts.
It's extremely easy to get lost in this single, it really speaks to you regardless of what your walk in life is. For Poppy Ajudha, it’s the hard life of being an independent artist who has to perform multiple roles just to scratch the surface of the music world, but the single is also relatable to the 9 to 5vers, entrepreneurs, the discriminated and the mentally tired. The single motivates you to keep going, because at the end of the day only you are responsible for your success.
According to Poppy Ajudha, the forthcoming project “is made up of all the things swimming in my mind, from women’s rights, to the right to cross borders, to the power of young people to inspire and be unafraid to rock the boat in the name of progress.” We are excited to take it in.
