Future Bubblers announce Academy Candidates
The Future Bubblers team has introduced 6 new participants for its talent discovery and artist development program, Future Bubblers Academy. Supported by Arts Council England, the program focuses on underrepresented demographics and aims to spotlight creatives outside London with limited access to the industry. The candidates will undergo a comprehensive program, gaining experience in promotions, marketing, creating and releasing masters, live performances, and other industry essentials, over a year. The program involves real-life tasks and challenges with mentorship from the Future Bubblers and Brownswood Recordings team.
The new candidates include:
1. Bill Bilwala (Industry Candidate): From Brixton Hill, he has a strong passion for music and has spent 24 years in South London's music and cultural hub. He is known for curating extensive playlists.
2. Shadeemus A Psychedelic Space-Soul band from Leicester with diverse heritage influences. They aspire to perform at major festivals and collaborate with notable names like Danger Mouse.
3. t l k A producer and vocalist from Bristol, t l k is recognized for their ethereal and evolving sound, blending various genres and influences. They have shared lineups with artists like Aphex Twin and Erykah Badu.
4.Ebony (Industry Candidate) From North London, Ebony finds inspiration in her hometown, family, and friends and is looking forward to turning music into a lifelong career.
5. O.K Asanda From Stockton-on-tees, O.K produces Alternative R&B and Soul music, inspired by his experiences and artists like Andre 3000 and D’Angelo.
6. JOIISOL Originating from Surrey, JOIISOL's music combines R&B, Neo-Soul, and Electronic-Jazz, aiming to satisfy music lovers with her dedication to creating nostalgic textures.
The program's former candidates have achieved notable success, strengthening the program’s cultural importance with collaborations and performances at various festivals and showcases. The current revision of the program is designed to adapt to the rapidly evolving industry and to continue testing boundaries and exploring new directions.
