Exclusive Premiere: Slowe - WYLTK

Bristol-based producer, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Slowe introduces herself with groove-laden, psychedelia-infused debut cut WYLTK.

Raised in Chepstow, Slowe’s passion for writing and performing developed throughout her teen years when playing in various bands. Moving into her own creative space, the artist picked up an array of instruments and began constructing her own sonic universe, with this new single being the first glimpse into her coyly charismatic character and dreamy soundscapes. 

There is a sense of ambiguity to the lyricism of WYLTK, as Slowe plays it cool with the tracks subject, slipping in and out of honesty through luscious melodies and layered harmony. The upbeat but nonchalant sonics are an ideal backdrop for the lucid themes and buttery vocal delivery. The audio is accompanied by a vibrant animated video envisioned by local artist Gina Tratt.

Speaking on the single, Slowe comments:

“The song is about the unspoken thoughts we have, the ones we sometimes wish we’d say, and the things we don’t say to keep from stirring up confrontation.”
