dust
Experimental emcee and producer Xadi has returned to a more typical rap style in recent single ‘dust’.
Having made a name for himself through catalogues of what I’d call important rap, the West London musician now teases his next endeavour with some heavy shelling and tight bars, which I hope is the direction the upcoming EP will take.
Xadi likes to fuse together all sorts of genres, changing like the seasons, but leans more regularly on hip hop, jazz and grime, with other influences creeping in here and there. This experimental form of production, along with his poignant lyricism, has led him to feature on BBC Introducing’s ‘Artist of the Week’, as well as on BBC 1xtra, Reprezent Radio and Rinse FM- in that time garnering over 1 million plays on single ‘Mañana’.
‘dust’ is for the hip-hop and rap fans. It’s self-released, self-produced and beautifully delivered, with visuals to match and is out now.
