Analogue warmth paired with plastic vocals and beautifully sporadic drums. Nora Lilith is an elusive, yet fascinating artist who both writes and produces her songs. Her mystifying sound incorporates dirty textures, gritty drum breaks and an often-changing vocal style. She recently joined the prestigious Majestic Casual record label, emphasising her incredibly promising potential. 

Her new single ‘Daysof8’ features ‘Alterboy’-infused vocals (a virtual vocal effect used by producers) and a warbly synth palette that makes Nora sound ambiguous, yet emotionally stimulated. The production, needless to say, is immaculate with a crisp, funky bassline and shimmering percussion. 

The lyrical content is deliberately difficult to decipher, yet the sense of longing and affection dedicated to someone is ever-present. The pacing of a song is regularly a trope that is complicated to manoeuvre, yet Nora effortlessly switches moods through sonic switch-ups, with a diligent ‘less-is-more’ mentality. 

This unique sound is something that is bound to resonate with a wide range of audiences as a result of its genre crossovers. One of the most exciting singles I have heard this year.
