Celebration
Darrell Cole gives us reason for ‘Celebration’ on his new lavish offering.
Released perfectly in time for the beginnings of post-covid life, Cole further excites us with carnival atmosphere, luxurious textures and celebratory visuals. An artist who lives up to his nickname of ‘International Cole’, Darrell has journeyed the globe in his years, having lived in Belgium, London and America with origins in Sierra Leone. The rappers style is Hip Hop based, but takes influence from a variety of genres such as Jazz, Afro and UK Rap.
Produced by Samuel Kareem, the sunny, kaleidoscopic track is the perfect summer cut, with an uplifting sentiment and breezy soundscape. The rich texture of the instrumental marries well with the visuals that are vibrant and resonant, as we see Darrell and his people celebrating his birthday. The rapper shows off a diverse and well crafted variety of flows and vocal tonality, illustrating skill and acumen throughout the warm and effortless song.
Although the track was written on his birthday in 2019, it only feels right that Darrell held off the release till now - I think we could all do with some celebration.
