1 2 WATCH: KeepVibesNear

Next up in our ‘1 2 WATCH’ segment is illustrious alternative R&B prospect KeepVibesNear, who has just blessed us with his new single ‘M25’, featuring fellow hot property Kieron Boothe. 

Self confessed noir R&B crooner KVN describes himself as having “the looks of a 90s R&B superstar and a delivery that owes more to King Krule than to D’Angelo”, and that description is immensely accurate. A striking visual and sonic presence, KVN has been demanding our attention of late, showing superb versatility and creativity across a series of singles. His most recent and recognisable work includes a feature on the progressive The Silhouettes Project, as well as recent dazzling single ‘Gently’ (read about the track here). 

‘M25’, which has been released via Melting Pot Music, is produced by Harvey Whyte, who has recently collaborated with future world conquering soulstress Greentea Peng. The off kilter, atmospheric beat is engrossing, with subtle piano melodies and busy percussion the palette for KVN to deliver stunning melodies in his signature tone. Both artists impress with their lyricism and energy, sustaining the interest of the listener with condensed performances.

Speaking about the new single, KVN commented:

“I spend a lot of days looking forward to just getting home and winding down with that special someone. For some it’s a booty call, for some it’s seeing their girlfriend/boyfriend after a long day. M25 is my anthem for ‘What are we doing later?’ It’s an ode to how we can have that someone that makes us so excited to be where they are. ”

A diverse and raw performer, KeepVibesNear is one of the most striking and inventive artists in a very strong alt R&B field. He is certainly ‘1 2 WATCH’.
