A prominent figure in the alternative R&B Renaissance, BaggE continues her hot streak, linking up with producer Hemai for a remix of ‘Sorry ‘Bout That’, released via Well Overdue Recordings. 

Originally heard on ‘What About Summer?’, BaggE’s 2020 joint EP with Tyegreen, which featured contributions from underground dons Danny Sanchez and Osquello, the track has been spectacularly reimagined by upcomer Hemai, whose instantly recognisable sonic stamp merges seamlessly with BaggE’s celestial vocal prowess. 

The groove is infectious; one of those smooth, buttery palettes, ample with rich texture and sugary delicacies. Hemai is hot property right now following his critically lauded debut album ‘Strange Beauty’, and he further illustates his versatility here with nuanced mixing and experimental vocal chopping. By now we should all know about BaggE’s heavenly, unparalleled vocality. She serenades the listener in a softly meaningful manner, toying with our emotions and auditory senses untill we end up longing to hear more of her serene tonality. 

BaggE’s long anticipated debut album is apparently not too far away, but while we wait for what promises to be one of the R&B highlights of the year, run up this silky remix.
