Dublin singer-songwriter Erica Cody graces us with new stylistic and ethereal track ‘Back to Basics’.

The rising R&B soulstress is a key player in the burgeoning Irish music scene, and her absorbing, opulent sound has drawn support from key tastemakers such as Notion and Spotify. Erica’s strand of R&B is a classic throwback to the 90s, whilst still maintaining a fresh and exciting approach to the increasing popular genre. The new stimulating single is the first glimpse into Erica’s upcoming EP, and is one of her boldest efforts yet. 

On the eloquent ‘Back to Basics’, Erica uses raw and vivid songwriting to portray themes of infatuation and vulnerability. The dainty and dreamy sonic palette is the perfect accompaniment for Erica’s dazzling vocal performance. 

Speaking on the new cut, Erica said:

“Nothing needs to be complicated when you can keep it simple. Love can be complicated but only if we make it that way. When you take it back to basics and ignore the outside noise that’s when it works best.”

With affecting writing and gorgeous cadence, Erica looks set to continue climbing on R&B’s endless staircase.
