About You

A trailblazing figure in the West Coast hip hop renaissance that has engulfed the States of late, Blxst finishes the year strongly with polished and kaleidoscopic single ‘About You’, released via Red Bull Records. 

Any early fans of the multi-faceted artist will have witnessed an existential rise from the young star, having collaborated with some of the biggest names in US rap like Russ and Snoop Dogg. The rapper, singer and producer is well-known for his ironclad partnership with Los Angeles rapper Bino Rideaux, with the pair unveiling their sophomore joint project ‘Sixtape 2’ earlier this year to a sizzling reception from fans and critics alike. 

An amalgamation of style, ‘About You’ is a vibrantly tender cut that samples the classic Joe & Case song ‘Faded Pictures’. Despite having been very active release wise throughout 2021, this is actually Blxst’s first solo track since his 2020 breakout body of work ‘No Love Lost’. The new single showcases Blxst at his charismatic best, delivering his deftly silky consolidation of singing and rapping over the rich, buttery instrumental.

Speaking on the release, Blxst commented:

“‘About You’ is a song about ignoring outside opinions when it comes to making a commitment. Everyone has their own unique version of what love is defined as, but as long as you and your loved one are in sync, nothing else should matter.”
