Wish You Were Here

It’s poetic lyricism at its finest as Sipprell returns with Wish You Were Here

Love preserves even in death, and in grief, you are living in a constant state where you are beside the pain rather than allowing it to recede into the background.

Sipprell emits an openness and frank honesty on the deeply personal Wish You Were Here. The offbeat percussion thumps in the background, surrounded by an emotive piano-based melody giving the whole track an intimate atmosphere. Executed with delicateness, the London-born singer can't completely mask the undertones of frustrations in her longing, as she navigates the complex emotion of love and grief. She sings softly with a gentle smoothing nature, “A part of me is still lost.. Years have flown but it still feels so raw.

Despite the fact that time passed Sipprell continues to mourn her late brother, Vince, holding everything close to her chest. ‘Wish You Were Here’ explores how the past actively shapes the present whilst looking towards the future simultaneously, allowing grief to sit in a vacuum of sorts that Sipprell through her artistry allows us to exist in.
