Vodafone

One of the North rap’s most enigmatic creatives, Just Banco continues to take his avant garde fusion of trap, drill and R&B to new heights, bestowing onto fans an early Christmas gift with ‘Vodafone’.

It’s been a prosperous year for the Mancunian. A series of crowd-pleasing singles have raise the vocalist’s stock ten-fold, with his unique inflections, wordplay and melodic flow allowing him to stand out from the competitive trap-wave scene.

The self-confessed pioneer of his own style, ‘Trapanese’, has proceeded to enhance his individualistic approach on this new one ‘Vodafone’. With his typical road-infused barring, Banco’s cheeky tone and charismatic flow juxtapose with the dark-undertones of his trapping lifestyle. The subtly psychedelic accompanying video, released via GRM Daily, sees Banco in a series of scenarios that portray his writing in visual form. As Blanco casually talks of trap houses and Arabic plugs, we see him amongst members, donning the infamous white gloves, or flashing expensive watches and whips.

If UK trap is to push its creative and sonic limits to the next level, Just Banco will surely be a key figure in its artistic insurgence.
