West London musician, rapper and producer Xadi continues his journey of hip hop expressionism with the heartfelt track ‘Tired’. Borrowing ideas from a range of genres like jazz, hip hop and RnB, Xadi uses honest lyricism and a laidback instrumental to create a relaxed and retrospective song.

Self-produced, the LoFi hip hop beat acts as a calming backdrop for Xadi to weave rhymes about his feelings of frustration and uncertainty, yet also ambition and optimism. His use of intelligent, playful wordplay feels both personal and thoughtful, allowing the listener to feel an intimate and empathetic connection with the artist. His effortless delivery and flows feel at home on the beat, and Xadi never overcrowds or overcomplicates his performance, which emphasises the simplicity and sincerity of the track.

Despite lacking a hook and perhaps some musical depth, the familiar, hopeful tone of Xadi’s ‘Tired’ certifies the tune as a winner.
