Time
After a year dishing out celebrated remixes, compilations and live streams, it’s about time Conducta dropped a new tune himself. Now, enlisting London’s JGrrey on vocals, the garage icon has released ‘Time’.
Conducta is the CEO of Kiwi Records, a label spearheading the UK garage revival in recent years, leading its evolution into what’s affectionately dubbed ‘NUKG’. Glossy yet grounded in classic sounds, ‘Time’ punctuates punchy drums with tropical marimbas and plucked strings. It’s got an R&B essence and pop sensibilities, making it an infectious anthem for future dances.
Neo-soul singer JGrrey has moved from bedroom studios to Billie Eilish’s European tour, and now lends her voice and attitude to another stage. This is one for both the radio and the rave. Obviously, her carefree lyrics get chopped in true garage fashion. Speaking of garage fashion, peep the music video to see the pair use their new tune to stop the clocks at a party we’d all love to attend.
Plus, Conducta and Kiwi Records are nominated for Best DJ and Best Label in DJ Mag’s Best of British Awards 2020. Get your votes in on time
