The Appreciation

Joshua. James recreates the emotion behind a summer day with his latest track ‘The Appreciation’. The first few seconds float in with chirps from birds as if the sun was rising, carefully foreshadowing the beautiful energy to come. The soulful song is a stage for Joshua. James and his musical accomplices SHANTÉH, DWY & Jodie Jo' to be seen. 

The subject matter of the lyrics in each verse serves as a sharp contrast to the beat, which is consistently poking through, mimicking sunshine bursting through the clouds on a rainy day. Each artist is speaking on the situations closest to them whether it be an individual hurt or a collective one. No matter where the individual journey takes them on, all artists meet back at the chorus, promising to “bring sunshine to the darkest skies.”

Throughout the tune, the chorus kisses our ears with sweet serenades & melodies that inspire a shoulder sway that will eventually fade into a dance. Even in the face of the surrounding tension in the world, Joshua. James is providing a burst of joy that is so desperately needed.
