Pairing his enticingly-distinctive flow with his heart-felt lyricism, ‘Tear$’, holds its summer-esque production against its introspective narrative. With production from Papi, the single acts as a perfectly placed backdrop to Dave B.’s bouncy and melodic delivery, allowing the rapper to play with his execution, switching it up throughout.

Although the production continues to evolve throughout the track, its simplicity creates natural pockets for Dave B. to experiment. Bringing together subtle keys and spaced-out drums, resting the ‘feel’ of the track heavily on harmonies and the many places the artist takes it within his verses.

Being his fourth release of the year after his recent ‘I’m a Mess (Freestyle)’ produced by J’von and latest work alongside long-term collaborator, Soulection-producer Sango, Dave B. explores another side of his singular style. This track brings a bright-sided instrumental along with its gospel-infused harmonies, effortlessly aiding the rapper’s happy-go-lucky flow with a sound as warm as it’s pink and purple-hued artwork.
