Summer Is Blue
Leicester’s finest, Sainté, continues to hold his city down in the luxurious offering ‘Summer Is Blue’, further solidifying the undeniable gem with contributions from current pioneers in the game A2 and Knucks.
‘Summer Is Blue’ presents the Local MVP sourcing a titanic trio for this number, filling the remaining verses with the underground trend-setter A2 and Kilburn’s very own cool-headed pen smith Knucks.
Just from the contributions, you already know this one is draped in silky-smooth cadences, subtly sequenced word-play and overall is bound to be a certified hit. Although, you really do have to take this one in to truly appreciate the plethora of talent on this roster.
Now if you’re like nearly everyone else banging the ever-growing UK sound we’re graced with day-by-day, then I’m sure you’ve been waiting on that Knucks x Sainté link-up - it was only bound to happen, and all of us knew it was only bound to slap. And they really didn’t miss on this one.
Just like the stacked vocal roster, the trio sonically turn to a number of talents on the production; sourcing the infectious soundscape through Elevated, Honeywoodsix, Clonez and Sainté’s go-to maestro on the keys Brad Baker who’s brought us numbers from the soothing ‘Old Times’, to the elegant ‘No Love’ featuring the mesmerising songstress Mira May.
Setting the pace, the production take us down a hypnotic path filled with ethereal synths and whirling plucks tied together with a spirited drum pattern that only expands the soundscape’s intoxicating energy as the three weave throughout the instrumental effortlessly.
Wrapping this one up, Sainté looks to hometown friend and rising director Arran Ashan to manifest the track’s visual presence; showcasing the trio masked in tailored balaclavas carrying out a heist, passing the material along with the mic throughout the transit.
Stating his ‘talent is still undiscovered’ it seems we’ve only witnessed the top of the sonic iceberg Sainté has to offer so far; leaving us all waiting to catch a glimpse of what the universal sound hailing from humble ends has to offer to the world.
