Still Here
The dynamic duo 808INK are back after a 2-year hiatus with a new project ‘Still Here’. With 15 tracks that ooze their signature sound, the South-East London pair gives fans an assortment of tracks that show how far they’ve come since their previous EP ‘Noisy Neighbours’.
Over the past few years, 808Charmer and Mumblez Black Ink have cultivated a sound that is unique. Through the use of carefully curated sonics and erratic production, 808INK have always brought a refreshing meaning to UK rap. ‘Still Here’ is a project that shows how much their sound has developed over the past 2 years, creating tracks that allow them to flex on a range of slick flows to keep their listeners entertained. Blending a range of musical influences, 808INK never miss the mark when it comes to making music.
Keeping to their signature style of rap, ‘Still Here’ carries an energetic vibe throughout, with tracks like ‘Clientele’ and ‘Brand New Bag’ holding the listener’s attention from start to finish. They still slow it down to give fans tracks a soulful touch, like ‘Mazel Tov’ which is bar-heavy and displays their finest rhymes. ‘Still Here’ does not contain many features apart from frequent collaborator Rasstokyo and upcoming rapper Yems01 who add their slick lyrics on ‘Ride or Die’ and ‘Darlin’.
808Charmer and Mumblez Black Ink have cooked up a star-studded project that combines infectious beat patterns with relatable subject matters. ‘Still Here’ shows fans that even though their last project came out in 2019, they’ve been honing in on their craft in the meantime to deliver an album that is filled with the most insane melodies.
