Stalker

Shot by Mah Haha Kamara

Stalking has never sounded so saccharine then on BaggE, Tyegreen and Osquello’s new cut ‘Stalker’. Taken from BaggE’s mellow, expressive EP ‘What About Summer’,  produced in its entirely by Tyegreen, this track, as well as the entire EP, has a sun kissed, effervescent timbre, which was inspired by the idea of bringing summer to the listener in a year where they couldn’t fully enjoy or experience the real thing. The final track on the EP, Stalker, continues with the breezy, ethereal instrumental mood, but the lyrical content goes into a deeper, darker place, tackling the theme of stalking and unwanted attention in a profound and subtle manner.

Tyegreen’s incandescent instrumental uses sprawling synths, grooving bass and busy percussion to create a suitable sonic landscape for the 2 artists to narrate on. BaggE’s memorable melodies and gorgeous tones ride the beat, as she dwells on the thematic content with a rugged charisma. There is a shift sonically for Osquello’s verse, as the rhythmic patterns become more rigid and consolidated. The new voice expands on the narrative work lain down by BaggE, furthering the imagery and ideas that the listener has already grasped. The artist shows his versatility in the verse, offering up both singing and rapping.

Brimming with invention and talent, on ‘Stalker’, all 3 artists involved further identify their originality and show that they are serious names in the UK alternative scene.
