Exclusive Premiere: RING-RING-PUSSY-IT'S-YA-DADDY-ON-THE-PHONE
The Pit London has an exclusive music video premiere release from international man of music Leo Luchini. The Berlin born, London-based rapper has now has consecrated the audio to 1-800 with a video accompaniment. Dropped last September from his début EP Bubblegum Creep, we have linked up to privilege your eyes with the adornment above.
Bubblegum Creep was a self-produced project and Leo has stretched his creativity into the visual realms on 1-800 featuring Black El. The two completed the song in one night after Black El heard Leo making the beat from the room next door. Two months later, the pair reunited in Sunset Park, Brooklyn to film the visuals.
Packed with personality and punch setting the scene is Leo rising from the sofa to missed calls and an empty Malboro Red cigarette box - he gets ready, shadow boxes then leaves the house. An old office phone plays a principal role throughout, reappearing in different settings and briefly being taken for a walk through the park. There are a couple of comical pauses for a brain freeze moment, obligatory neighbourhood greetings and an old guy 'thug life' video-bombing.
Around only 3 or 4 locations were creatively coordinated to build a story with flashes of 80's-like Hi8 camera style footage intertwined, adding another layer and framing an alternative perspective.
The artwork for the single was produced by acclaimed and commissioned artist Opashona Ghosh who was born in India, now a Londoner. Opashona specialises in graphic design & illustration. This unique hookup of artists from different fields have cultivated a piece of history.
Leo is currently back in Berlin working on his next EP which will be released later this year.
