Off The Block

The infamous Jahlil Beats tag sets the stakes high and on new single ‘Off The Block’, HDBeenDope doesn’t slack. His flow is relentless over snare hits that evoke the New York trap explosion of the 2010s, his delivery is blistering. Since stepping onto the alternative rap scene in 2013 Brooklyn’s HDBeenDope has been building a cult following.  Fans have been drawn to his distinctive, personal style and ‘Off the Block’ has got people excited. 

On the track we hear his sound refined, a synthesis of New York nostalgia most prominent in the 50 Cent style overlays, mixed with energetic flows reminiscent of Denzel Curry, and intimate storytelling a la Kendrick Lamar. ‘Damn’ is cited as a key inspiration for HD’s upcoming project BrokeN Dreams.
