North Face
The Black Yorkshireman Chiedu Oraka continues his stylistic development with audacious new drop North Face.
Having been an important figure in Northern rap for years and continuously dropping solid music, it’s clear Chiedu has been putting the hours in to keep improving his craft. His recent releases have been some of the most impressive tracks to date, with broody cut Maggie To Sip and garage jam Stay The Same highlighting Chiedu’s broadening versatility.
On the new double drop, the Hull native dazzles with his charisma, bringing flows in abundance. North Face is light hearted sonically, with the energetic, reggaeton inspired production the perfect backdrop for Chiedu’s controlled, instinctive delivery. His storytelling lyrical prowess is as sharp as ever as the rapper draws on his past, present and future in the humorous and thought-provoking bars. For a Minute showcases a newly found introspective side to Chiedu’s music, with a softly sung chorus and Chiedu’s love-struck bars backed up by murky synths and snappy drums.
Speaking on the tracks, Chiedu commented:
Both tracks are set to appear on Oraka’s increasingly anticipated new EP Council Estate Confidence.
