Non Stop/Go Low

Toronto-based Afro-fusion artist Jeffrey Benson returns with his dynamic double single, “Non Stop/Go Low.” Following the success of his EP Afro6ix Takeover, which garnered over half a million streams, this release explores the emotional spectrum of Afro-fusion, blending infectious Afrobeats with the mellow vibes of alté.

“Non Stop” kicks off with a rhythmic nod to early 2000s Afrobeats, infused with contemporary production that energises dance floors. Clever lyricism shines through in lines like “Your body built like Tems,” celebrating modern icons and self-confidence.

In contrast, “Go Low” dives into a laid-back alté aesthetic, featuring understated basslines and a minimalist groove. This track unfolds like a tender late-night conversation, with Benson's rich baritone creating an intimate atmosphere.

“‘Non Stop’ captures the excitement of that first electric connection,” Benson shares, while “Go Low” reflects on unspoken connections between two souls.

Benson’s artistry merges the vibrant spirit of Nigerian Afrobeats with multicultural influences from his journey from Lagos to Toronto. With previous projects setting the stage for his rise, and performances alongside Kizz Daniel and BNXN (Buju), Benson is undeniably a voice to watch in Afro-fusion.

As Afrobeats captivates global audiences, “Non Stop/Go Low” highlights the genre's limitless possibilities, pushing Afro-fusion into exciting new realms while honouring the traditions that inspire him.
