Ms. Luna
Lulling pen-smith Jesse James Solomon blesses us with a much needed heavy-lidded journey on the melty ‘Ms. Luna’.
Cooly sauntering his way to the top with his mellow-monotone cadence, SE’s prime player Jesse only ever seems to bring the lulling remedies for those long days at the office, as we continue to unwind within the musicians’ one-of-a-kind soothing aura vividly expressed on a personal favourite; ‘Ugly World’.
“Ms. Luna” presents the word-smith coasting atop a woozy Lederrick structure; draping the soundscape within a silky-smooth layer of synths and heavy hints of bass with a soothing touch - curating the ideal sonic treatment for the SE star to casually float across with his heavy-lidded cadence accompanied by that paralleled poetic poise he continues to hone.
Bringing this one to life (well, in an animated universe) JJ turns to Orfeo T; cultivating a moving picture featuring Jesse’s animated alter-ego within the frequent Wolf that pops up amongst the rapper’s discography art. Throughout the visuals Orfeo T paints the picture of individually interpretive adventure of the mysterious character, weaving between scenes on the road looking over the night-lit skyline, psychedelic symbolism and those late night settings looking up to the stars all before the figure walks off with that iconic Walkman seen in the ‘Ugly World’ visuals.
Make sure to check out “Ms. Luna” over on Jesse’s Youtube channel and give it some love - the guy is in a league of his own.
