Soul-stress IYAMAH continues to transcend generic expectation, embracing love struck nostalgia and vivd retrospection on ‘More’, aided by High Focus royalty Coops. The track follows on from IYAMAH’s November ’TRUTH EP 2’, a project that saw her writing and production ascend to new heights. The artist shows no sign of slowing down, offering radiant vocality and musing soundscapes on the new cut. The songs palette cascades daintily between the boundaries of soul, hip hop and R&B; refusing to be tied down by convention, instead focusing on providing an effervescence auditory experience.

The instrumental is synchronously ataractic and purposeful, with croning horns and sweet, plucked guitar lounging in the background of lively electronic drums and jumpy, adventurous bass. IYAMAH’s gorgeous vocal harmonies offer some texture and depth to the sparse beat. Coops comes through with a rich, calculated and expressive verse full of brevity and introspect, not rushing his flow - roaming his thought process like he is browsing high end retail.

When discussing the track themes, IYAMAH commented

So, is the desire for more, emotionally or physically, from a person who may be incapable of bequeathing it, healthy? How does it impacts our own mental state and outlook? Not only does IYAMAH offer an intelligent manifestation of plethoric love, she also takes an intimate look at our reaction to this self-indulgent, all consuming emotion. ‘More’ of the same, please!
